How To: Resistance Band Lat Stretch – WOD Nation coach Barry @ CrossFit Chiang Mai

Using a resistance band (exercise band) for stretching the lat muscles is a great idea. CHECK OUT THE RESISTANCE BANDS USED IN THIS VIDEO HERE:

First you need to choose the right resistance band. The stronger you are, the thicker band you’re going to need. If you are using the WOD Nation resistance bands then use the heavy green band. For smaller people, you need a lighter resistance band. If you are using the WOD Nation exercise band then use the purple or black light resistance band.

Hook the resistance band over the pull up bar first.

We want to stretch the shoulder, lat and back. Put your hand in the band and turn the palm up. Walk back slowly and get some tension into the band. Allow your shoulder, lat and back to relax. DO NOT tug on the band or pull the band. Focus your attention on your side and continue to relax. Hold this stretch for 30 seconds to a minute and then switch sides.

This is a great pull up stretch, muscle up stretch, and shoulder stretch!!
