Speed Workout For Kids Using Resistance Bands | Youth Speed Training


Set up the speed work out with a ladder perpendicular to a line of three cones. You will also set up one cone a little bit deeper past the middle cone. It should look similar to a ladder with a crossed “T” with cones.

To begin you will move sideways through the ladder completing high knees. The coach or trainer will stay close behind the athlete moving sideways with them. Next, as the athlete comes out of the ladder, they will turn in sprint to the farthest cone. Immediately after, they will change direction, come back to the middle cone, and and then backpedaled back. At this point the Reactive Stretch Cord will be added for resisted broad jumps. Build power during this section. It’s important that the you stay low and change direction quickly.
